WHAT WE DO
This is a collection of the services that we provide to patients & their families in the greater Umhlathuze area

Palliative Care
We provide home-based palliative & supportive care in respect to physical, emotional and spiritual needs associated with the final stages of illness, the process of dying & bereavement.

Holistic Care
We have MOU’s with our IDT Dr. and a local pharmacy which allows us to provide holistic care, through pain and symptom control, nutrition and hygiene support and nursing consumables.

Counselling
Trained bereavement counselors support the patient and their families. In-service training is ongoing to our own staff with external trainers presenting periodically. Patients are also referred to Faith Based Organisations as required.

Medical Equipment Rentals
The rental of medical equipment allows patients and families the use of much needed equipment they would not otherwise have access to.

Transportation
We provide referrals and transportation assistance for patients who are too ill to utilise regular public transport so they are able to access health care facilities.

SASSA Assistance
Social Welfare assistance is provided through partnerships. SASSA grant assistance is given for the application of grants where possible.

Together we can make a difference.
What we find so heart breaking is not the work we do, but that we cannot do more of this work due to financial constraints. Zululand Hospice is looking for donors who have a Hospice Heart.
